Fleisher is proud to welcome an exciting new group of Wind Challenge Artists in anticipation of the 35th season of the Wind Challenge Exhibition Series. Congratulations to this season's nine artists who were chosen from a pool of 247 applicants. Each Wind Challenge Artist will exhibit in one of three three-person exhibitions at Fleisher and will receive a $750 honorarium. Each artist will also be asked to create a public event centered on his/her artwork or art practice.
Each year, Fleisher assembles a new panel of esteemed jurors to select the new Wind Challenge Artists based solely on the merit of their work. This year, the panel consisted of the following jurors:
Artist Jurors
- Astrid Bowlby, Works on Paper & Installation Artist
- Nadia Hironaka, Video & Installation Artist
- Tristin Lowe, Sculptor
- Anthony Elms, Associate Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art
- Jonathan Wallis, Assistant Professor of Modern & Contemporary Art at Moore College of Art
- Anabelle Rodriguez-Lawton, Independent Curator
The Wind Challenge Exhibition Series is a regional juried competition, providing an exhibition opportunity for working artists in Philadelphia at any stage of their career. Each year, nine artists are chosen from two rounds of blind juries to participate in the exhibition series, now entering its 35th year.
