Karen Stone

Walking in Circles, 2001, heels, solar, sand
Karen Stone brings her passion and obsession for collecting to focus in her installation at Fleisher titled "IMPACT". This installation is a labyrinth of discarded shoe soles and heels blurring the boundaries between the floors and walls, defining direct and indirect pathways for one to journey through space. Like stone mazes worn with age, one can read the wear patterns to form mental stories from these very personal artifacts. Ms. Stone received her B.F.A from The Kansas City Art Institute and her M.F.A. from the University of Colorado.
