James A. Rose Jr.

Self Portrait, 1996, mixed media on mylar, 40"x30"
My work for the past several years has dealt with my desire to confront the viewer with a strong emotional, spiritual image of the subject. I try to show the complexity of what's on my mind through subtle and sometimes bold changes in body position, lighting, mark making, size, etc. from one piece to the next.
