Jennifer MacDonald

Untimely Demise, 2003, enamel on MylarŪ, 22" x 30"
Jennifer MacDonald paints on MylarŪ, exploring emotionally-charged places and states of mind. Architectural fragments, domestic interiors and familiar objects co-exist and contribute to the moody nostalgic atmosphere in the works. The motifs in much of MacDonald's work include diagrammatic drawings of walls, floors, doorways, wallpaper patterns, waterfalls, water fountains, and figurative fragments. the importance of color and texture is evident in the way she layers paint and ink on both front and back of the MylarŪ, creating an atmospheric, somewhat mysterious dimemsionality in the work. Ms. MacDonald received her certificate in sculpture from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and her B.F.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
