My materials and art processes vary greatly with each new piece. Consistent elements throughout are: materials that, while familiar and often domestic, are also politically, socially or historically charged; beautiful craftsmanship (net-making, drum-making, needle work); the use of multiples, enumeration to give a sense of tangible weight of common objects or vernacular art processes.

About Challenge

Established in 1978, the Challenge Exhibition Series is a regional juried competition that is committed to enriching and expanding people's lives through art. Several three-person shows, held each year from September through May, feature the work of regional artists chosen annually from over three hundred entries.
