Linda Lorrie Gross

Daphne (L) and Cicada Dance (R), 1996, wood and paper, 6'h and 4'h
A dog followed me home and I took her in to see how we would get on. Late that night, she started howling so I climbed down from the loft to calm her. The moon was shining brightly onto one of my sculptures, a presence equal part animal, human and organic and the dog was terrified of it. I was pleased, though I turned on a light to calm her.
