Allen Greenberg

Up House Down, 1996-97, cedar/pine/mahogany, 22'x62'x8'
For the past fifteen years I have worked on two bodies of work simultaneously - large scale site specific installations and studio-object pieces. My installations are designed around the specifics of the site, physically and contextually. They are comprised of both found and fabricated objects. I use these objects, such as chairs, rocks and boats, as symbols for the figure, nature and spirituality. I often use balance as a metaphor for opposing aspects of the human condition.
