Fritz Dietel

Twist, 1997, cypress and mixed media, 92" x 78" x 40"
My work is an evolutionary exploration of form, frequently reflecting organic objects found on land and under water. Thin strips of cypress are bent over wood forms. These thin strips of wood are affixed to one another with pigmented epoxy. The finishes are achieved with natural dyes and pigments suspended in a lacquer varnish.
