Brian Coleman

Portable Ornamental Footbridge, 1997, fir and hardware, 166" x 39" x 48" (LxWxH)
Maybe it was moving to New York that did it. The old absence-makes-the-heart-grow-fonder thing, but lately I've focused my investigations into how landscape is parceled and presented for our viewing. A common garden can be both an accurate portrait of a gardener and an incomprehensible parody of nature. Bonsai tree? Hoover dam?
