Jon F. Clark

Pectoral, 1997, glass/stone, 23.5" x 18.5" x 6.75"
My current work is based on prehistoric American cultures. I have visited sites and museums that have objects from these cultures. I am compelled by the notion that many realities co-exist simultaneously within these objects. These objects fascinate me because of their powerful contemporary presence, while being grounded in ancient culture. In my work I explore new insights and information through my interpretation of these provocative and enigmatic aspects.
