Colonial Colors, 1997, Lithography and Silkscreen, 32"x66"
At the age of 8, my Grandmother was sent to U.S. Government Indian Boarding Schools. She left The Standing Rock Indian Reservation, and her culture behind her. Her cultural heritage, as well as my own, was realigned. I am playing with the ideas of culture and power and how history can so easily be rewritten.

About Challenge

Established in 1978, the Challenge Exhibition Series is a regional juried competition that is committed to enriching and expanding people's lives through art. Several three-person shows, held each year from September through May, feature the work of regional artists chosen annually from over three hundred entries.
