The Wheel Project

Kindergarten - Fifth Grade

Co-Funded by Fleisher’s Community Partnerships program and Meredith Elementary School, The Wheel project was coordinated by teaching artist Sebastienne Mundheim. The project was developed two Small Learning Communities (grades K-5) at Meredith Elementary School. Based on the wheel, a team of Philadelphia artists worked with the students on sculptures, prints, collages and mixed-media works exploring the kinetic nature of the wheel. The project culminated in an exhibition of the projects in the school’s gym, which was visited by the entire school. This was the first Public School Residency project to include six grade levels in one school community.
