Life-size puppets made of second hand materials with hand crafted heads and faces

Fifth Grade

Teacher Partner: John Seaman
Teaching Artist: Marilyn Wood

Paired with Marilyn Wood of New Threads' Fancy Schmancy Dress up Studio, students researched and discussed issues of the environment, and the cost of human habitation. Students used theater activities, journal and creative writing and puppet designing to speak about their ideas on the environment. Students worked individually and in groups around four different Superhero themes: Recycle, Reuse, Rebuild, and Renew. In their final celebration the students performed short educational skits for their peers.
