Literacy Residencies at Kirkbride Elementary School

Second and Third Grades

Teaching Artists: Alyse Bernstein, Kate Kern Mundie and John Giordano

Developed in conjunction with a Reading Excellence grant, Fleisher teaching artists created six residencies linking visual art and literacy building in the second and third grade classes at Kirkbride Elementary School during the 2000-2001 school year. The projects incorporated drawing, painting, sewing and fabric printing with reading, storytelling, story writing and museum visits.
