Community Residencies
CPA has built on Fleisher’s longstanding commitment to the communities of South Philadelphia to build a network of relationships with neighborhood-based organizations serving the after-school needs of children in this area.CPA is a partner in the Arts Program Support Team of the newly formed Southeast Philadelphia Collaborative, whose other members are United Communities of Southeast Philadelphia, South Philadelphia and Furness Clusters of the School District of Philadelphia, Crime Prevention Association, Lutheran Family and Children Services, 7th Street Roundtable, Philadelphia Department of Recreation, Free Library of Philadelphia, and Asian Americans United. The project is supported by the United Way's Center for Youth Development and funded collaboratively by several local foundations.
Working in collaboration with these and other human services organizations, CPA offers a range of after-school, visual and performing arts-based programs taught by professional artists. Classes are developed to meet the needs and age ranges of the children at each site.
