Human Body Project (3rd Grade)

This project was developed in conjunction with The Discovery Channel/Expanded Learning Voyager’s "Pre-Med" program, a third grade curriculum in which students assumed the role of pre-med students as they explore the systems and organs of the human body through math, science and art. Students used math skills to study human proportion and then created life-size full-length portrait paintings of themselves. The project was originally taught in the Furness cluster summer school program and subsequently brought to McCall Elementary and Abigail Vare Elementary. Artists: John Giordano, Alyse Bernstein
