(ages 5 to 17)
Children develop creative thinking processes while exploring a variety of mediums and techniques. Formal elements of color and design are introduced at age-appropriate levels.
Sculpture
(ages 7 to 17)
Three-dimensional work allows young artists to expand their
understanding of artistic concepts and techniques.
Printmaking
(ages 10 to 17)
Drawing skills are expanded and developed through intaglio and
relief printmaking techniques of collagraph, etching, monotype,
linoleum, and woodcut.
Parents
These classes, specifically offered to parents of children in the
Saturday programs, give parents the opportunity to explore their
creative potential.
Please note: It is not necessary for parents to enter the class lottery. If your child is chosen for a class, we will make room for you in the appropriate parent class.

Cambodian Classical Dance
NEW DATES: 14 February — 25 April 2009 [no class 11 April]
9:00 - 10:30 a.m. (ages 6-7 and new students)
11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (ages 8 and up, and returning students)
Mr. Yin
This class teaches the ancient dance forms once practiced exclusively for the royal court of Phnom Penh in Cambodia. Court dance teaches the ancient stories of gods, demons, and heroes, and the symbolic meaning of gestures, costumes, and masks. The class requires stretching and exercises in breathing and balance. Conducted both in English and Khmer.
Cambodian Classical Dance students are asked to take a $15 Fleisher membership.
Interested students may enroll in person on Saturday, 14 February 2009, or anytime through MyFleisher.

Ms. Fitzpatrick & Mr. Rawlins
The Philadelphia Society of Botanical Illustrators
offers this special Saturday scholarship workshop primarily for teen students, but it will be open to adults if space
permits. Students must have basic drawing skills and a valid Fleisher membership. The workshop will be taught by
illustrators Virginia Fitzpatrick and Scott Rawlins.
The Society of Botanical Illustrators will provide all materials for teen participants. Adult students may purchase
their materials in Fleisher's supply store. Subject matter will include plants and insects. Mediums to be taught will
include graphite, colored pencil and watercolor. Registration limited to ten participants.
