Students look at work by famous architects and designers, along with traditional and nontraditional living spaces of various cultures. A fun course in which we will work with paper and fabric together to make visual books, paper clothing, and other mixed media projects. Students will be exposed to a variety of materials such as paper, cardboard, wood, and fabric. The focus of this course will be on learning about different types of media and how media can be mixed and integrated successfully to create individual works of art. In this introduction to screen printing, students will learn many screen blocking methods, registration techniques, and single and multi-color printing on paper and t-shirts. Through jumpstart drawing exercises students will develop their own images to explore the hand drawn screen print process.
