Students look at work by famous architects and designers, along with traditional and nontraditional living spaces of various cultures. They then plan out a "dream home" with blueprints and interior design inspiration boards and builds a model using cardboard boxes, wallpaper scraps and other materials. Create table setting inspired by famous artists! Make placemats, clay utensils to be hung as a painting. Young artists will explore the range of relief printing, stencil, monotype and collage as they learn how to translate shape, color and textures of architectural details into a series of prints. Indoor and outdoor studies as well as a look into architectural history will provide the students with visual reference for their prints. Transform the animals, aliens, and monsters in your imagination into 3-D soft sculptures. Learn how to make your drawings pop! Students will spend a few classes learn the basic structure of a pop-up book, then create their own using drawings, collage and photographs. A fun course in which we will work with paper and fabric together to make visual books, paper clothing, and other mixed media projects. Students will be exposed to a variety of materials such as paper, cardboard, wood, and fabric. Using drawing, painting, folding techniques, sewing, and beading they will create unique pieces of three-dimensional art. The focus of this course will be on learning about different types of media and how media can be mixed and integrated successfully to create individual works of art. Led by a local MC, students will create artwork inspired by hip hop music, lyrics, and dance that they will learn during the weeklong workshop. In this introduction to screen printing, students will learn many screen blocking methods, registration techniques, and single and multi-color printing on paper and t-shirts. Through jumpstart drawing exercises students will develop their own images to explore the hand drawn screen print process. In this introduction to photo process silkscreen, students will learn how to prepare a digital image for printing, coat and expose screens in the darkroom, and screenprint on paper or fabric. Develop 4 - 5 quality drawings in black and while and color to use in beginning or advanced portfolios for high school and college admission. Through the use of observed drawing we will explore the still life, figure and landscape. Students will not only learn and reinforce the basic elements of making art but to also explore and encourage each student's creative expression. How to Register

Deadline to Register
Fleisher workshops fill fast, so early registration is recommended. The deadline for receiving registrations is June 21st. Registrations for open workshops will be accepted after the deadlines, but workshops that have not met minimum enrollment levels by this date will be cancelled.

Tuition, Materials Fees, and Membership
All participants in Fleisher's summer workshops are requested to give a membership contribution in addition to the tuition fees (for adults: $15 for the semester, or $60 for a full twelve months; for children: $10 for the semester; for families: $90 for a full twelve months). Tuition costs with model, firing, and/or materials fees are listed with each course description.

Tuition Assistance is available on a limited basis; write to eromick@fleisher.org, call 215.922.3456, ext. 348, or download a financial aid form before you register. The deadlines for submitting financial aid forms is June 21st.

Refunds/ Withdrawals
If Fleisher cancels a workshop due to inadequate enrollment, registrants will receive full refunds for all fees paid for that class, excluding memberships. Students who wish to withdraw from a class after registering must notify Fleisher's Registrar in writing in order to receive a refund.
Adult workshops: 75% of the tuition will be refunded before the first class, 50% before the second class, and 25% before the third class. After the third class, there are no refunds. Children, Teen, and Parent workshops: 75% of the tuition will be refunded before the first class. After the first class, there are no refunds
