Week of July 28
Do you feel stuck and ready to explore? Has that old rectangle got you down? Collage and mixed media can often be a catalyst for change in your work, and a refreshing, new way to handle familiar media. Students from all art backgrounds are welcome in this workshop that explores a range of materials with which to relax, take chances, and perhaps change direction. We work with different papers, your own discarded art, as well as any and all water-based media. In addition to exploring techniques, students work towards developing subject matter which links your work together. This can be as simple as all the work the same size or color palette, a narrative story, a series of imaginary or real landscape, portrait or still-life. Bring interesting papers and bits of things to share. Tuition: $135 (members) $160 (non-members); plus $10 materials fee

Crappy Camera [W140] | Mr. Matthew Hollerbush
9:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M.

Week of July 7
Go behind high-end equipment and back to low-tech: no metering or technical concerns, just pure image making. Pinhole, plastic-lens toy cameras and other alternative image making devices are used. No prior photography experience necessary. Tuition: $135 (members) $160 (non-members); plus $40 materials fee
