Acro-balance and Hat Manipulation [ETCE-2] |

This special workshop is being offered by The Extra Terrestrial Circus Experiment, in conjunction with their evening performance at Fleisher.

In acro-balance, partner up and learn to balance each other in fun, impressive ways.

Learn how to manipulate and dance with bowler hats. Students will learn flips, rolls, tosses, flourishes, comic gestures/stunts, and more — as well as explore beginning multi-hat juggling, patterns and poses. Tuition: $20 members ($25 nonmembers)

Bellydance [ETCE-3] |

This special workshop is being offered by The Extra Terrestrial Circus Experiment, in conjunction with their evening performance at Fleisher.

Bellydance is made up of isolations of the body and fluid movements along with sharper more staccato movements. In this belly dance class you'll learn the base moves, hip and rib isolations, turns, hand and head movements, hip bumps and locks, and rib locks. Students will also learn how to dance with a veil. Tuition: $20 members ($25 nonmembers)

Sphereplay and Contact Juggling Improvistation [ETCE-1] |

This special workshop is being offered by The Extra Terrestrial Circus Experiment, in conjunction with their evening performance at Fleisher.

Sphereplay is an artform where one rolls a spherical object all over their body from head to even the toes. Students will learn how to give spheres just enough energy so that it rolls fluidly over their hands and arms with finesse. Students learn transfers, control points, stalls, body rolls and isolations, in which one moves the body around the sphere while it floats in space.

Contact Improvisation is a dance form that focuses on a moving point of contact between two dancers; it can be both meditative and athletic -- akin to surfing, aikido, tai chi and swing dancing. Tuition: $20 members ($25 nonmembers)

How to Register

Deadline to Register
Fleisher workshops fill fast, so early registration is recommended. The deadline for receiving registrations is May 30 for adult workshops and June 23 for children's and teen programs. Registrations for open workshops will be accepted after the deadlines, but workshops that have not met minimum enrollment levels by these dates will be cancelled.

Tuition, Materials Fees, and Membership
All participants in Fleisher’s summer workshops are requested to give a membership contribution in addition to the tuition fees (for adults: $15 for the semester, or $60 for a full twelve months; for children: $10 for the semester; for families: $90 for a full twelve months). Tuition costs with model, firing, and/or materials fees are listed with each course description.

Financial aid is available on a limited basis; call 215.922.3456, ext. 312, or download a financial aid form before you register. The deadlines for submitting financial aid forms are June 1 for adults and June 27 for children and teens. Applicants will be notified of results on June 3 and 30, respectively.

Refunds/ Withdrawals
If Fleisher cancels a workshop due to inadequate enrollment, registrants will receive full refunds for all fees paid for that class, excluding memberships. Students who wish to withdraw from a class after registering must notify Fleisher's Registrar in writing in order to receive a refund.
Adult workshops: 75% of the tuition will be refunded before the first class, 50% before the second class, and 25% before the third class. After the third class, there are no refunds. Children, Teen, and Parent workshops: 75% of the tuition will be refunded before the first class. After the first class, there are no refunds
