Act 48 Credit for Pennsylvania Educators

Act 48 requires all Pennsylvania educators holding public school certification to participate in ongoing professional education.

The Fleisher Art Memorial is an approved Act 48 provider. Act 48 hours are provided through the sponsorship of the Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

For the Spring 2010 semester, there are presently three workshops which Pennsylvania educators may take for Act 48 credit:

Collage and Mixed Media: Introduction | AW319S
Digital Photography: Introduction | AW160S
Digital Photography: Introduction | AW321S

The number of Act 48 hours for these workshops is equal to the number of class hours attended (maximum of 30 per workshop).

In order to receive Act 48 credit for these courses, there will be a $10 administrative fee in addition to the cost of tuition and lab fees. To pay the fee, please add an additional $10 in the donation field and make a note that this amount is for Act 48. We will follow up with you afterwards to fill out the relevent paperwork.

How to Register

Register directly through this website (follow the secure link in the course description), download the registration form [PDF, 49kb] and mail it with your payment, or register in person at 719 Catharine Street.

Please register for workshops no later than March 29th. Fleisher workshops fill quickly, so early registration is recommended. Registrations for open workshops will be accepted after the deadline, but workshops that have not received the minimum number of required enrollments by that date will be cancelled.

Tuition, Materials Fees, and Membership
Tuition and materials fees — when applicable — may vary; see individual listings for details. Model, firing/glazing, chemicals, and materials fees are listed after each workshop and must be paid at the time of registration. Adults are asked to take a membership of $30 for the term, or $60 for a full calendar year ($40 for senior citizens 65 and older; $90 for a household). Those taking a membership at the time of registration will receive the member's discount on tuition.

Refunds/
Withdrawals/
Cancellations

If Fleisher cancels a workshop due to inadequate enrollment, registrants will receive full refunds for all fees paid for that workshop (if any), excluding membership contributions. Students who wish to withdraw must notify Fleisher's Registrar in writing in order to receive a refund. 75% of the tuition will be refunded before the first class, 50% before the second class, and 25% before the third class. After the third class there are no refunds.
